-communication is the imparting, conveying or exchange of thoughts, messages, ideas, knowledge or information by sign and sounds like speech, signals, writings or behavior.

  • communication over a long distance.
  • refers to the transfer of data(communication) from a transmitter to a receiver across a distance.
  • data/code is transmitted through medium (wire, cable, atmosphere)

THE ELEMENTS OF COMPUTER AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY 👐
  1. people - the most important element in communication, built analyse and develop the system & operate the computer
  2. procedure - series of action or operation which have to be executed in the same manner
  3. data - information that stored in the computer system and used by application to accomplish task. data unit such as the link shown below. 👇
                           

      4. hardware - refers to any physical objects that are part of         the comp system.comp need this to operate. 
    
    5. software - parts of the comp that have no material form.         it has two type which are application software & system         software

    6. communication - transmission of data. conversion of               data (analog-digital), (digital-analog)

REFLECTIONS

in this chapter, i learned the importance of telecommunication tools because we are already in a new era. the development of the technology also lead us to communicate from far wherever we are and whenever we want.

INTERNET PROTOCOL -Internet is a global collection of network -interconnected computers work by transmitting data through a special type of packet switching which is known as the IP (internet protocol) -when you connect to the internet, your computer becomes part of a work. a hierarchy of networks -from a single computer to LAN -from LAN to ISP  -ISP to WWW INTERNET PROTOCOL 💃 Every machine on the internet has a unique identifying number, called an IP address the IP stands for internet protocol ,which is the language that computers use to communicate over the internet. a protocol is the pre-defined way that someone who wants to use a service talks with that service.  a typical IP looks like this 216.27.61.137 an IP address consists of 32 bits, often shows as 4 octets of numbers from 0-255  DOMAIN NAME SYSTEM internet services that translate domain name like www.hotwired.com into into numerical IP address like 204.62.131.1
